Origins and Development

Field modification to counter growing Allied air power, mounting a 2 cm Flak 38 AA gun on a Panzer I Ausf. A hull. About 24 vehicles were converted.

• Open-top fighting space
• Extremely limited gun depression/elevation
• Light armor (as original Ausf. A)

Combat History

Saw limited use in North Africa, where it served more often in a ground support role than actual AA duty.

Performance Evaluation

Marginal AA utility due to stability and visibility constraints. Useful only as a temporary solution.
